REYDON SENIOR CITIZEN DINNER

Everyone is invited to the Reydon Senior Citizen Dinner on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2 they will be serving Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Black-Eyed Peas, Macaroni & Tomatoes, Hot Rolls & Dessert. Both dinners will be held from 4:30-6:30 PM. 55 & over $3.00; 55 & under $5.00; Children $3.00. Everyone welcome.

 

SCRIVNER BABY SHOWER

You are invited to a Baby Shower for Angela (Embery) & Stoney Scrivner, expecting a baby girl on Saturday, October 18th, 2:00 PM at the Opera House, Old Town Museum, Elk City. Registered at Carousel Connection, Wal-Mart and Babies R Us.

CRAWFORD MONTHLY DANCE

The Monthly Dance at the Crawford Gym will be held Saturday, October 4th, 8:00-11:00 PM. The one-man band from Amarillo will be playing. Come out and have a good time!

 

RMC REPUBLICAN PARTY NOTICE

RMC CATTLEMEN’S MEETING

The Roger Mills Cattlemen’s Association will meet on Monday, October 6, 6:00 PM at Las Casuelas in Cheyenne. Dues of $15 will be collected. Dues can also be mailed to PO Box 611, Cheyenne 73628.

RMC FARM BUREAU ANNUAL MEETING

All Roger Mills County Farm Bureau members are invited to attend their Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Cheyenne Senior Citizens Center. Meal provided. Please RSVP 580-497-2579.

 

CARPENTER FAMILY at DEMPSEY

The Carpenter Family will be performing at the Dempsey Social on Saturday, October 4. Lake Carpenter and daughter Kaysa are experienced singers and actors. The meal will be chicken spaghetti with all the fixings. Families may bring a dessert. Festivities will begin at 7:00 p.m. Hope to see you there!

BERLIN SOCIAL SUPPER

The Berlin Community “Haunted” Social Supper will be Saturday, October 11 at 6:30 pm. If you dare to attend this spooky event hosted by Charles and Anna Campbell and Wes & Evelyn Pierce you will be scared into eating Witches Brew Stew with yellow moldy bread and Ghostly chili with broken cat bones. Please be devilish and bring a wicked dessert. Please join the fun and dress the theme, adults & children. There may be a prize for lurking in the darkness, for the best dressed.

 

KOCH BENEFIT COOKOUT & AUCTION

A Benefit Cookout and Auction for Corie Koch will be held Saturday, October 4, 6:00 PM at the Ag Pavilion in Cheyenne. Brisket with all the fixings will be served. If you would like to make a donation to the auction call Shance 497-6146 or Becky 497-6776. Corie has Cystic Fibrosis and will be traveling to St. Louis for extensive testing and hopefully a lung transplant. The funds will be used for these upcoming expenses.

ELK CITY DRIVER LICENSE TESTING

Effective Wednesday, October 1, 2008, the Elk City Driver License testing office will be temporarily closed until further notice due to remodeling at the National Guard Armory. Testing will be available in Clinton, Monday through Friday at 1120 Opal. Phone number is 580-323-0678.

TOWN of STRONG CITY MONTHLY MEETING

The Town Board of Strong City will hold its Regular Monthly Meeting on Monday, October 6th at the Strong City Community Building at 6:00 PM. The meeting will include a discussion on the upcoming REAP Grant application. Any public input will be welcome.

SWEETWATER VETERANS MEMORIAL

The Sweetwater Community is compiling a list of Veterans from the cemeteries of Buffalo, Mayfield, Dempsey, Brookside, Mulberry and Wayland for a Veteran’s Memorial in Sweetwater. If you know of any deceased Veteran not buried in these cemeteries call 580-928-303 or contact Charleen or Karen at 580-534-2272 so no one is left out.

JROTC BOOSTER CLUB SHOOTOUT

3rd Annual JROTC Booster Club & American Legion will hold their Shootout, Silent Auction & Rifle Raffle on Saturday, October 25 from 10am-2pm at the American Legion Building in Clinton. Entry fee is $10. For more information call Jeanna Hines 445-8997 or Steve Jones 445-8216.

 
 

GOLF CLUB NEWS

Bob Cannon, John Harrington, Cade Burns and Tel Ueland won the Sunday scramble with a 6 under par. There was not a winner on Closest to the Pin on Hole #3. See you Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Cheyenne Golf Course.

CLOTHES CLOSET FOOD PROGRAM

The next distribution for the Food Program will be Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Clothes Closet from 12:30-2:30 PM. For more information call Mary 580-497-3792. Don’t forget to bring your boxes back. They can be left in the back under the carport.

Results of the Senior Citizen Bowling from the Sayre Bowling Lanes were…Games over 150: George Whitehead-198; Don Head-167; Julie Skelton-160; Patti Thompson-157; Jerry Toth-151. Series over 400: George Whitehead-477; Don Head-455. Female Star of the Week: Jerry Toth-67 pins over average. Male Star of the Week: George Whitehead-81 pins over average.
