DONATIONS FOR OLD SETTLERS RECEIVED
The Old Settlers Association has begun their fund raising effort for the upcoming reunion to be held in April of 2007. To date they have received several meaningful donations to help finance the various activities to be carried out by the Old Settlers Assoc.
The Roger Mills County Commissioners made a contribution of $1000 to begin the fund raising. Their donation was to be used in the “Wherever Needed” category. Others making contributions for the same area were TLR Well Services of Elk City, $1000; Cimarex Energy Co. of Tulsa, $500; T&O Oilfield Services of Reydon, $500; and Kenneth Tracy of Tulsa, $300.
Washita Valley Enterprises of Oklahoma City made a donation of $500 to be used for the Whistlers, Fiddlers and Whiskers Contest. Chesapeake Energy Corporation of Oklahoma City made a substantial contribution in the amount of $10,000. They wished that this amount be used to fund the Barbeque Dinner, the Longhorn Herd, the wagon rides, sound system rental and a Bagpipe Band if one can be secured.
The Old Settlers Association wishes to thank these contributors for their interest in our endeavor and for their support. If you would like to contribute to the Old Settlers Assoc. and help make this upcoming event the best ever, call Dale Tracy at 497-2106
