RMC...50 YEARS AGO

            The Sweetwater Allied Arts Club held its annual Thanksgiving dinner in the school lunchroom, which was beautifully decorated with colorful autumn flowers and foliage. Boud’arc apples were used for candleholders. Mrs. O.K. Henson presented her music students in a number, four children were dressed as pilgrims with a background of autumn trees, shock feed and pumpkins, sang “Over the River and Thru the Woods”. Those taking part were Linnie Ray Coffey, Mike Blevins, Charlotte Fowler, and Carolyn Henson. Lester Davis sang “God Bless the U.S.A.” and Linda Davis sang “Shine On Harvest Moon”.

            Barbara Gaynor was elected as the Sweetheart of the Cheyenne FFA Chapter members. She is a junior and a popular favorite of all the high school and students.

            Mr. and Mrs. Theo Lutz of Durham celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in their home with all their children and families present.

            Three Cheyenne FFA teams made a trip to Goodwell to participate in the Panhandle A&M Judging Contest. Ray Barton, Larry Bogges, Clifford Widener and Dale Tracy made up the Livestock Team. On the Meat Team were Duane Hunt, Bobby Fagan, Ernest Isch and Orville Tate. Donald Simpson, Gary Robinson and Luther Barkley Composed the Dairy Team.

             A crowd estimated at 350 persons was present for the formal opening of the new Church of Christ building in Cheyenne last Sunday afternoon.

             A masquerade party with gay decorations and lively games was featured at the November meeting of the Dempsey Progress Club. Prizes for the best costumes were awarded to Mrs. L.H. Wood, Sandra Hughes and Sharon Kay Harmon. Frank Dodson was leader of the hilarious games.
