March 15th is Deadline to Asses Personal Property
March 15th is the deadline to file your personal property assessments without a late penalty, according to Teresa Morris, Roger Mills County Assessor. New applications for homestead exemptions must be filed in person by March 15th. Double homestead exemptions and the valuation freeze will also need to be filed by March 15th. To qualify for a double homestead exemption, your gross income from all sources cannot exceed $20,000.00. To be elegible for the valuation freeze, you must be 5 years of age by January 1st and your income cannot exceed $43,200.00.
Please bring in your tax return and all other income not listed on the return such as the 1099 from your social security payments. The income applies to all persons living in the home.
The Roger Mills County Assessor's Office is open from 8:00 to 4:30 Monday - Friday.
