ADULT ACADEMIC BOWL

Monday, March 27 was the date of the Thirteenth Annual Academic Bowl sponsored by the Cheyenne Sr. 4-H Club.

Once again it was a night of hilarity and quick buzzing.  Seven teams were welcomed by 4-Her Jaci Alford. LaNell Smith registered the teams; Oscar Hollway, Alicia Crum, Glen Calvert, and Jaci Alford kept score. Dusta Kimzey, Aaron Ford, Chase Hensley and Toni Swartwood were timekeepers. Alicia Crum, LaNell Smith and Glen Calvert provided refreshments for the group and set up the table. Shannon Collins and Cassie Springer held the drawing of the team letters and kept the Official Scoreboard. All of the 4-Hers listed set up the buzzers, rooms and cleaned up with the assistance of Toni and Bill Swartwood, Robert Land and Susie Thurmond.

Moderators were Bill Swartwood, Susie Thurmond, Robert Land and Judy Tracy. One of the teams who planned to attend had an emergency and were unable to come. There were seven rounds played and the score in some rounds would show the teams only one question apart. In the end the team of Limited Knowledge Team was first, Country Boys and a Girl Team was second and H&M Team was third.

In the audience enjoying the whole event were Joyce Smith, Kathy Crum, Tristan, Tawni and Hadley Watson, Rev. Padilla, Farrell & Alice Robinson, Betsy and Niki Miller and  Patrick Thurmond, who helped in several ways with the event.

Team members are: Limited Knowledge Joe Hay, Gale Smith, Alden Miller, Tony Adams; Country Boys & Girl Dale Tracy, Tracy Smith, Stuart Sander, Pat Versteeg; H&M Lisa Holloway, Ivan Minor, Patti Moorman, Stephani Padilla; 3 Girls and a Doc Drs.
