VerSteeg Named to National Faculty of District Attorneys

            District Attorney Dennis Smith announces that Pat VerSteeg has been to named to serve on the faculty of the National College of District Attorneys. VerSteeg is the Assistant District Attorney for both Roger Mills and Ellis Counties. The National College of District Attorneys is located on the campus of the University of South Carolina in historic Columbia and is the training center for the nation’s prosecutors. Smith said, “It’s an honor to have an Oklahoma prosecutor and member of our staff serve as a faculty member at the National College, the ‘Harvard’ for prosecutors.” All faculty members at the National College are experienced field prosecutors, who are called upon from time to time to instruct on various aspects of trial advocacy. Recently, VerSteeg conducted a seminar on cross-examination for prosecutors from across the nation. “It’s an honor and privilege serve in this capacity. It’s a great way to give back to a great profession,” said VerSteeg. VerSteeg has served for many years on the board of the Oklahoma District Attorneys Association, and was named in 1994 as an Outstanding Assistant District Attorney by the Association.
