11TH ANNUAL LONGHORN OPRY
The 11th Annual Longhorn Opry and Chuck Wagon Supper are pleased to announce the upcoming headliner for the 2006 Longhorn Opry will be “From The Heartland”, Blue Grass Band. This evening of great food and music will be held May 6th at 6:30 p.m. at the Durham Longhorn Field house.
“From The Heartland” formed in the early part of 2004. In April of 2005 they signed a recording contract with Platinum Plus Records out of Nashville. After recording their “One Little Kiss” album in May they were able to debut it on the Gibson Theater Stage at Fan Fair located in Nashville in the month of June 2005. They are currently working on some new projects for their next album and are looking forward to touring the world. They are playing their second Fan Fair at Nashville in June 2006. They will also be releasing a Bluegrass Gospel album that will be available the 1st of June. Other appearances they will be making this year will be in April at Owensboro Kentucky, they will be playing at Mobeetie, TX, in July. In August they will be hosting the second annual “From the Heartland” Blue Grass Festival at the Chickasha Fair Grounds, and then off to the Duncan Blue Grass Festival in September. Telephone Rd., on Monday & Tuesday nights. Band members are, Carl Brown from Chickasha, OK, on the Banjo, Dobro and backup vocals. Freddie Base from Tuttle, OK, on lead guitar and backup vocals. Mary Mayhew from OKC, OK, on fiddle and backup vocals. Janis Lindsey from Purcell, OK, on lead bass and backup vocals.
